February is the Month of Love: Let’s Spread Love San Diego!
Love is in the air this month, and it’s all for a good cause. We are currently experiencing the highest inflation rate in almost 40 years, along with a continued public health crisis caused by COVID-19, and the economic fallout from the pandemic. In response, Feeding San Diego is continuing our Spread Love San Diego campaign in 2022. This February, we encourage the public to spread love and kindness to help San Diegans facing hunger.
Get Involved & Spread Love
Our Spread Love San Diego campaign, which runs during February, includes many initiatives that allow the community to give back:
Kitchen Diaries Series
The Kitchen Diaries series is a collection of audio stories designed to provide insight into the issue of hunger. The clips spotlight those facing hunger to educate and inspire the community to help end it. During the campaign, we’ll feature five stories of San Diegans who have relied on Feeding San Diego this past year. Hear their stories.
Valentine’s Day e-Cards with Impact
We tapped four talented San Diegans to design e-cards for you to send virtually with love. Making a gift and sending a card is a powerful act this month. Not only will you spread love to someone special, but you will also help rescue food and provide meals for people facing hunger. Send a card.
Spread Love San Diego 2022 Benefit Campaigns
Several unique benefit campaigns are running this month. View all benefit campaigns.
- Leading up to Valentine’s Day, the new Comic-Con Museum in Balboa Park is offering $5 off the price of adult admission if you bring a food item in or donate to Feeding San Diego at the museum. During your visit, you’ll enjoy the launch of their new exhibition, Eight Decades of Archie. This unique pop-up exhibition explores the storied history of America’s typical teenagers. You can experience immersive set pieces, visual displays, and hundreds of artifacts, including vintage comic books, animation production materials, priceless works of original art, TV and film props, and other memorabilia.
- From February 1 – 28, 2022, Belmont Park will donate one meal for every park pass purchased. This pass allows guests to enjoy a full day of rides and attractions, excluding the zipline and the go-karts.
Volunteer
We have 22 volunteer shifts every week, including four on Valentine’s Day!
This month, we invite the public to bring a loved one to volunteer together. Bring along a galentine, a partner, a friend, a parent, a colleague, a classmate, a spouse – whoever you want to spend time with while giving back! Spending a few hours volunteering with someone you care about is the perfect way to celebrate the importance of love. Sign up to volunteer.
With Gratitude for Our Spread Love San Diego 2022 Sponsor
Feeding San Diego is grateful to Spread Love San Diego’s campaign sponsor, GoMacro, for its ongoing support to help end hunger through food rescue.
GoMacro is a mother-daughter owned and operated company. What started in a farmhouse kitchen has grown into a top-selling, plant-based nutrition bar company. We are glad to partner with an organization that puts its heart and soul into promoting a healthy, sustainable lifestyle.
