Mobile Pantry Survey Results: Fresh Produce Making a Difference

Feeding San Diego’s (FSD) mission is to end hunger through healthy food, education and advocacy. In this winter’s Mobile Pantry site surveys, we’re seeing our mission come to life.

We found that 97 percent of clients reported eating more fruits, vegetables and whole grains since receiving food from the Mobile Pantry sites and 75 percent eat less unhealthy food like fast food or junk food like chips, sodas, etc.

In the open response portion of the survey, one client shared, “It makes it so much easier for me that I can get fresh fruit and vegetables. It helps me so much since I am on social security. I can eat better and have money to buy my medicine and go to the doctor.”

Another client stated, “It enables me to give my family more fresh fruits and vegetables.”

Survey results like these are incredibly inspirational and valuable for FSD as we continue to strengthen our programs with direct input from those we serve. We are happy to see our Mobile Pantry program, the only one of its kind in San Diego County, making a difference for families and seniors facing hunger.
