Chief Financial Officer

As chief financial officer of Feeding San Diego, Collins Ejiogu is responsible for the overall financial strategy and direction of the organization valued at more than $109 million, ensuring its financial health, sustainability, and compliance. Collins oversees a team of six in the nonprofit’s finance department that budgets, forecasts, and manages cash flow for the organization, ultimately managing more than $100 million in revenue that the nonprofit brings in. He works closely with the executive team, board of directors, and key stakeholders to drive financial planning and efficiency in alignment with the organization’s mission.  

Collins joined the executive team in 2025, and within his first year he implemented NetSuite integration to enhance financial operations. Having come onboard during a time of high productivity and growth within the organization, Collins is leading his team to make long-term growth in the most financially sustainable manner possible.  

 Collins is drawn to non-profit work, specifically with Feeding San Diego, because he wants to make a purposeful impact on his community and focus on what he dubs “profit for purpose” versus corporate profit. Collins joined Feeding San Diego in October 2025, bringing 11 years of experience in finance management at higher education institutions. As chief administrative officer at UC San Diego Division of Extended Studies, he oversaw the department, seeing it through the pandemic. During his tenure, he helped establish the division as an international leader in continuing education and was integral in helping grow its revenue by nearly $30 million during his tenure. In 2023, he was recognized by the San Diego Business Journal as a 40 Under 40 finalist in his role at the university.  

Prior to UCSD, he served as an accounting manager and then director of financial operations and auxiliary services at Claremont Graduate University. During his tenure, he was recognized by the National Society of Leadership and Success for starting the university’s chapter and serving as its co-advisor.  

Collins earned his master’s degree and a certificate in accounting and finance from UC Riverside and earlier his bachelor’s degree in business administration from CSU Fullerton. He is a lifetime mentor with the National Society of Black Engineers and was a McNair Scholar and mentor at CSU Fullerton. He is also a member of the San Diego Chapter of the CFO Leadership Council and the Institute of Certified Management Accountants. 

A Los Angeles native and proud Dodgers fan, Collins has lived in San Diego since 2021. Collins is a dad to two young children, aged five and two. He enjoys life as a soccer dad to his son, and an enamored observer of his daughter’s exploration of her world.
