FEEDING SAN DIEGO AND SAN DIEGO & IMPERIAL COUNTIES LABOR COUNCIL INCREASE FOOD PLANNED FOR TOMORROW BY OVER 50% TO MEET RISING DEMAND

COVID-19 emergency food distribution will serve an additional 400 families at SDCCU Stadium

SAN DIEGO (April 10, 2020) — Feeding San Diego and San Diego & Imperial Counties Labor Council are joining forces this Saturday, April 11 to distribute food to children, families, and seniors impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Feeding San Diego expects to serve an additional 400 families this Saturday due to increased demand. Distributions will continue to be held on a weekly basis during the COVID-19 crisis.

“Feeding San Diego is working diligently to get food to people who are facing hunger, many of whom are experiencing food insecurity for the first time due to the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Vince Hall, CEO Feeding San Diego. “Our emergency food distribution at SDCCU will help to ensure children, families and seniors can access the food they need to endure this devastating crisis.”

WHAT: Feeding San Diego in partnership with the San Diego & Imperial Counties Labor Council, will host a mass drive-through food distribution for San Diego children, families, and seniors in need at SDCCU Stadium on Saturday, April 11, beginning at 9:00 AM until food is gone.

A pre-packed box of shelf-stable product and a bag of fresh produce will be placed directly in each trunk, keeping a six-foot separation at all times.

The need for food assistance continues to rise daily across San Diego County.
