Where to Find Free Summer Meals
At Feeding San Diego, we know how stressful summer can be for families that rely on school meals. During the summer, we work with sites around the county to provide free summer meals. There are three types of summer distributions: Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) sites, summer school pantries, and summer pantries. We have also partnered with Parks after Dark to provide no-cost groceries at their events. You can find a description of what’s available at each site type below the map.
Days and times are subject to change, and additional sites will be added. Please check this page before attending.

SFSP Meal Sites
Through the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), we provide free summer meals for children under 18 throughout San Diego County.
Meals come in boxes containing one week’s worth of prepared meals (e.g., five breakfasts and five lunches) to be consumed onsite or taken home. Parents or guardians can pick up meals without their kids present, but can only pick up from one SFSP meal site. Meals are served on a first-come basis.
Summer School Pantries
Certain school pantries stay open through the summer months to continue supporting the community. School pantries provide various dry goods and fresh produce. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own bags and method of transportation for the no-cost groceries.
Summer Pantries
Feeding San Diego partners with the San Diego County Library to host free food distributions at libraries throughout the county during the summer months.
Summer mobile pantries offer a variety of dry goods and fresh produce. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own bags and wagons to carry the food, which includes pantry items and fresh produce.
Parks After Dark
Feeding San Diego partners with Parks After Dark to provide no-cost groceries at their events. Members of the community can attend Parks After Dark and enjoy music, entertainment, arts & crafts, and other activities, as well as access a variety of community resources.
Assorted dry goods and fresh produce will be available every Friday during the event. During July, we will be providing hot meals on Thursdays through Saturdays under SFSP. There are no Parks After Dark events the week of the Fourth of July.
Additional Food Resources
In addition to its summer programming, Feeding San Diego provides year-round no-cost food distributions throughout San Diego County. You can find other distributions near you on our Find Food Map. For additional resources, please call 2-1-1.
