Former NFL Super Bowl Champion, Steve Weatherford, Gives Back to the Community for the Holidays

This holiday season, Steve Weatherford brought smiles to the faces of children, families, and seniors at Central Elementary when he donated more than $4,000 to Feeding San Diego to benefit students and neighbors in the community facing hunger. The generous gift from the Steve Weatherford Foundation will support our School Pantry program and help operate one distribution site for two months.

Steve is a former Super Bowl Champion of the New York Giants and regularly supports Feeding San Diego through his participation on our Entertainment Council, working collectively to engage our community in the fight against hunger.

As a father of five, Steve understands how expensive it is in San Diego to feed a family. He wanted to give back and help those in need during the holidays.

Not only did Steve donate, but he and his family volunteered as well—helping to distribute nutritious food to all who came by the distribution.

Everyone who attended the school pantry were elated to receive the extra help and meet Steve and his two daughters.

Gifts such as Steve’s help the 1 in 8 San Diegans who face hunger daily. Feeding San Diego not only believes in providing for the community, but making sure this food nourishes San Diegans with the necessary vitamins and nutrients for the years to come.
