Getting Active to Raise Meals!

On December 10, 2017, Feeding San Diego held the Miles for Meals 5k to raise funds to fight hunger in San Diego. The race began at 7:30 AM, in the Gaslamp Quarter of downtown San Diego.

204 runners and walkers came out on this beautiful Sunday morning, raising more than $7,700 for those struggling with hunger in our community. This is the equivalent of 30,800 meals that will serve families in need.

Prior to Miles for Meals, a special yoga event was held at the Feeding San Diego distribution center on December 7 to also help raise funds in the fight against hunger.

This was the first event of its kind at our facility with 25 participants spending the first-hour gleaning and sorting food and then practicing yoga in the warehouse led by Amy Krieger.

Thank you to all who supported our events and continue to help as we work towards our goal of a healthy and hunger-free San Diego.
