Create meal kits using shelf-stable ingredients that help neighbors experiencing food insecurity prepare nutritious meals at home. Choose from 6 tested recipes, assemble ingredients in clear bags with recipe cards, and drop them off at our San Diego facility—all on your schedule.

How it Works

    Let us know you’ll be participating

    Choose Your Recipe – Select from 6 nutritious meal options – choose ONE recipe per batch of 12 kits

    Gather Ingredients – Shop for ingredients or host a mini food drive

    Assemble Kits – Please use clear bags and include the provided recipe cards

    Drop Off – Bring completed kits to our facility – 9477 Waples St. Suite 100, San Diego, CA 92121
    Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

Every 12 kits you create earns 2 volunteer hours and helps provide nutritious meals to San Diego neighbors.

12 kits → 2 volunteer hours
24 kits → 4 volunteer hours
36 kits → 6 volunteer hours
48 kits → 8 volunteer hours

Please stick to one recipe type per batch of 12 kits for consistency.

12 kits is our minimum for volunteer hour credit, but you can work toward this goal over time.

No, all items must have original labels with ingredient lists for food safety.

No, Court Ordered Volunteering must be done on-site in one of our Food Sorting Shift. For more information, please visit our Court Ordered Volunteering page.

Yes! If you are under 18, you can still participate — just be sure to have your parent or guardian provide consent by filling out their information on the form.

Please allow 3-5 business days for volunteer hours to be processed and added after submitting your meal kits.
