Give a Meal

Give a Meal Logo

Join Feeding San Diego in spreading love by supporting restaurants across San Diego County while also helping to feed people in our community facing hunger.

How it works:

  1. Visit one of the restaurants listed below.
  2. Order your favorite menu items and let your server know you’d also like to “Give a Meal,” too!
  3. The restaurant will prepare the meal and alert Feeding San Diego to your meal donation.
  4. We will pick up the meal and get it to a person in San Diego County facing hunger.
It’s that easy!

Community Voices

Co-owners of Small Goods pose outside their shop in La JollaWhat we like the most about Give a Meal is that there’s a real connection to the products we are giving. Every time we do our donation, I take a picture of the 20 or 30 meals and include it in my next week’s newsletter. I show them, these are the products that they are paying for. People are really responding to the fact that they really see their money going to something in a tangible way. We want them to know that we’re not just collecting their money. We have a running list of how many meals have been made and when they went out. There’s no reason why we wouldn’t keep this thing going.

Chef and owner of Encontro North Park stands with line of meals prepared for people facing hunger. This will help the community by feeding people that don’t have food right now, and that’s the most important thing. These are scary times and I can’t imagine what it’d be like without the bare necessities. In addition to helping the community, this helps us because it brings up the morale of the team, that we’re doing something positive for the community, that’s what Encontro is all about.

Owners of the Smoking Goat and One Door North join Feeding San Diego Gift a Meal ProgramWe are a family-owned and operated business with two restaurants that we have nurtured and grown for over 10 years. The thought of losing our years of hard work, life investment, and future financial security for our family is overwhelming and heartbreaking. The idea of our employees not being able to support their own families is an unbelievably heavy burden. It is heartwarming to feel the support of our local Girl Scout community, our young future leaders, and Feeding San Diego in their desire to help local restaurants while feeding people in our community facing hunger. We are invigorated to be a part of Spread Love San Diego and appreciate the efforts of all involved to lend a helping hand to keep restaurants alive and help get our employees back to work.
