Feeding San Diego is delighted to announce that it has been named the charity partner of San Diego Restaurant Week this spring, which returns Sunday, March 26 through Sunday, April 2. This year marks the beloved event’s 20th anniversary of welcoming San Diegans to participating county restaurants to enjoy specially priced prix-fixe meals. For every meal ordered during San Diego Restaurant Week, $2 will be donated to Feeding San Diego, up to $10,000, by Chef Works, a leading manufacturer of chef uniforms and chef wear programs within the food service and hospitality industries around the globe.

Presented by the California Restaurant Association, San Diego Restaurant Week is a celebration of San Diego’s culinary community, which has long supported the work of Feeding San Diego, the county’s leading hunger-relief and food rescue non-profit organization.

“Feeding San Diego has deep relationships within the culinary industry in San Diego, and there is an intrinsic tie between the hospitality industry and hunger-relief,” said Dana Williams, director of marketing and communications at Feeding San Diego. “Feeding San Diego and Chef Works share a mutual desire to help support the culinary industry, protect the environment, and provide children and families with the nutrition they need to thrive. By partnering with San Diego Restaurant Week, we can bring broader awareness to the work we do in the community to support San Diegans facing hunger.”

This is the first time Chef Works has partnered with Feeding San Diego. The company, which is based in Poway, was eager to support Feeding San Diego as part of its Chef Works Cares initiative.

“Chef Works Cares is at the heart of our company culture and represents the charitable giving side of our company.” said Aaron Brown, director of marketing at Chef Works. “Our focus is to support the areas of child poverty, adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and environmental sustainability. Feeding San Diego is a natural fit in these areas because its programs provide nutritious meals to families, including those with children, and their work to divert food from the landfill helps mitigate climate change.”

San Diego Restaurant Week is proud to be able to incorporate a charitable aspect to the long running event, especially with a non-profit that supports access to a fundamental need: nutritious meals.

“San Diego Restaurant Week is dedicated to curating unforgettable experiences through culinary adventures. As San Diegans explore menus of diverse cuisines around the lunch and dinner tables during San Diego Restaurant Week, we create opportunities for lasting impact and connection within our communities,” said Sara Arjmand, chairwoman of San Diego Restaurant Week. “We are thrilled to be collaborating with Feeding San Diego on a partnership that ensures everyone in our communities can have access to the food they need while also supporting our neighborhood eateries.”

During San Diego Restaurant Week, guests can enjoy two-course lunches and three-course dinners starting at just $20 depending on the restaurant’s price points. To see a list of participating restaurants, visit sandiegorestaurantweek.com.
