Partners Increase Capacity with Feeding San Diego Grants

agency-grant_produce-boxesFor our first round of agency grants in early 2016, the Feeding San Diego Programs Team awarded grants to seven agencies, with a total of $5,000 awarded.

Items requested by partner agencies included tires for distribution vehicles, refrigeration to increase agency capacity to store fresh and nutritious food, and materials to build dignified and attractive display shelves for distribution. South Bay Community Services in Chula Vista, for example, had local students from High Tech High
design, price and build beautiful displays for their distribution to enhance the look and feel for clients. Another agency, Stepping Higher in East County, was able to increase deliveries to homebound seniors by 8 deliveries per year.
