Mobile Pantry

Reaching Underserved Communities

Serving predominantly rural areas of San Diego County, the mobile pantry program provides food to underserved neighborhoods. With about 16 sites around the county, our pantry operation reaches communities with a significant number of low-income families who lack consistent access to full-service grocery stores or other sources of fresh, healthy food.

Each site has a regular distribution schedule for when they hand out food. On distribution days, community members can pick up fresh produce and dry goods. Some sites also offer frozen protein.

A Story from Our Mobile Pantry

There are eight in my household. I come to this distribution for my kids. It would be difficult to afford food for my family without this distribution. My husband is retired and collects disability, but it isn’t enough. Our two kids who were working got laid off because of the pandemic.

Food is so expensive, we just have enough for basic necessities. Coming to this distribution is so helpful.

Thank you. Thank you for donating your time and money and expecting nothing in return.
