Looking for group volunteer opportunities in your area? Feeding San Diego welcomes volunteer groups year-round! Volunteering with a group is a fun way to give back to your community.

What Types of Groups Are Welcome to Volunteer?

All types of groups are welcome to volunteer at Feeding San Diego. We provide opportunities for:

Corporate team-building
Community service for groups
Community group volunteers
Girl Scout troops
Boy Scout troops
And more!

The only requirement is that all group members must be six years of age or older to participate in volunteer shifts in the Feeding San Diego Distribution Center.

How Group Volunteer Opportunities Work

Groups of five volunteers or more can apply for a group volunteer shift at our distribution center.

If you are interested in volunteering with a group, you’ll first fill out the Volunteer Group Interest Form with:

Your name and contact information
Your group name and type
The expected number and age of volunteers
Your top three choices for the date and time of the volunteer shift

After you submit, our volunteer team will review the information you provided and respond within three to five business days. We’ll work with you to schedule a time that works for your team, though we can’t always guarantee your top choices.

What to Know about Group Volunteering at Feeding San Diego

Weekday volunteer shifts are restricted to 15 volunteers or fewer.
We recommend giving one to two months’ notice for weekday volunteer shifts.
Saturday volunteer shifts fill up fast. We recommend scheduling three to four months in advance for group volunteer opportunities on Saturdays.

What to Know about Group Volunteering with Kids

All volunteers must be six years of age or older to participate in volunteer shifts in the Distribution Center. We require one adult volunteer per five volunteers ages six to 13 and one adult volunteer per 10 volunteers ages 14 to 15.
