FSD Partners Join Efforts for “Day of Hope”

One of our fantastic partner agencies, St. Rose of Lima, has taken it upon themselves to respond to the growing need of their community by partnering with other organizations in the Chula Vista community, including another FSD partner agency, Turning the Hearts Center. Together, they joined efforts to offer a “Day of Hope” for homeless residents last month.

Festivities included showers, haircuts, BBQ lunch, giveaways and more. Rosie at St. Rose of Lima noted, “The second Day of Hope was a huge success – we doubled our client base and with the added shower component, served over 120 homeless residents!”

In addition to these large events, St. Rose of Lima is focusing on providing diabetic-friendly foods and health education to the families they serve, as they now receive produce from FSD. We are honored to partner with such amazing collaborators who are reaching their community with healthy food and so much more.
