With a heavy heart, we’ve made the difficult but necessary decision not to host the in-person BRO-AM events this June. The heart of BRO-AM is to support those in need and in the midst of this global pandemic, staying home is the best way to do that.

While we can’t physically be together for our annual community hug this summer, we can still keep the heart of BRO-AM beating by helping kids in immediate need — this is why we exist!

With schools and businesses shut down, a growing number of kids in our community are facing hunger. Our friends at Feeding San Diego are working diligently to meet the rapidly increasing need for food during the COVID-19 Pandemic. The BRO-AM community has supported this incredible organization for many years, and they need our support now more than ever.

“We have shifted BRO-AM’s focus to help raise funds and awareness for Feeding San Diego through a social media campaign, the #HomeFoodChallange. A huge thanks to our community for understanding and for continuing to support these incredible kids. Thanks to all of you, the heart of the BRO-AM is still alive and well, helping kids thrive even during COVID-19,” said Jon Foreman, SWITCHFOOT.

Each day, Feeding San Diego is incurring additional expenses to support its COVID-19 response, including costs for food purchasing, emergency distributions, and transportation. As food donations from grocery stores, retailers, and restaurants decline, they are adapting to identify new sources of food and funds.

The BRO-AM Foundation has donated $5,000 to kick things off! Please consider giving, if you can. Every dollar contributed will be matched up to one million dollars. A special thanks to Gwendolyn M. Sontheim and the Aqualia International Foundation LTD for doubling the impact.

To help raise more funds and awareness, each member of SWITCHFOOT has launched their own Home Food Challenge on their personal Instagram accounts. The Challenge raises awareness of current food needs, shares a favorite home food item, and encourages giving. Personal friends are tagged to also join in the Challenge. So far, notable musicians (Elise Trouw, Phil Wickam), athletes (Rob Machado, Taylor Knox, Quessenberry Brothers), influencers (Master Chef Claudia Sandoval), and even companies like BRO-AM’s longtime sponsor, SUJA Juice, have joined the Challenge.

We’re asking San Diego to get involved and as we always say at BRO-AM, “Play Your Part”. Here’s how:
  1. Give – every dollar Will be doubled! https://bit.ly/BROAMHomeFoodChallenge
  2. Help spread the word by starting your own Home Food Challenge on
social media using #HomeFoodChallenge and tag 3+ friends to participate.
  3. See other’s Challenge posts by searching #HomeFoodChallenge on Instagram.
DM @switchfootbroam for a copy of the Challenge social media post text.

Times are tough for everyone at the moment, if it is within your means to donate or pick up that new hoodie you’ve had your eye on, there’s no better time than now. If you’ve been dreaming about the next Switchfoot concert, so have we! Till then, Jon will be posting a song a day #LiveFromHome on Instagram and YouTube.

We love our SWITCHFOOT Family! Stay safe, stay home, sing it out.
