Plant-Based Protein Bar Company GoMacro Partners with Feeding San Diego to Help End Hunger
A percentage of sales from the brand’s Everlasting Joy MacroBar supports the non-profit’s mission to connect every person facing hunger with nutritious meals
SAN DIEGO (April 16, 2021) — Feeding San Diego has announced that GoMacro, a mother-daughter owned company dedicated to making plant-based nutrition bars, has again partnered with the organization on a benefit campaign for the fourth year in a row. As part of their Give Back program, GoMacro will continue to donate a percentage of annual sales from its Everlasting Joy bar to Feeding San Diego.
Although GoMacro is based in Wisconsin, the company’s marketing team, CEO, and several other key executives are based out of the company’s satellite office in San Diego. The company is proud to play an ongoing part in supporting food rescue and hunger relief in the community several of their team members call home. The funds donated will be used to support Feeding San Diego’s ongoing COVID-19 emergency response, which includes hundreds of drive-through distribution sites in San Diego, including large-scale ones that serve up to 1,500 households per distribution.
“Our company is rooted in health, and not just physical health. We believe in the health of communities nationwide and are proud to play a small part in the incredible work Feeding San Diego is doing locally,” said Jola Sonkin, CEO and Co-Founder of GoMacro. “We’ll all remember 2020 as a difficult time, but a silver lining was that it showed us the importance of health and the need to continue to support companies and organizations giving back.”
Labeled as a ‘Give Back Bar,’ the Everlasting Joy MacroBar is the perfect balance of organic coconut, vegan dark chocolate chips, creamy almond butter, and 11 grams of plant-based protein. The product is widely available throughout San Diego County, at well-known retailers like Whole Foods, Jimbo’s Naturally, Bristol Farms, Sprouts, and Trader Joe’s.
“Our partnerships with food brands like GoMacro are incredibly important to our overall mission,” said Dan Shea, CEO of Feeding San Diego. “We are thankful for GoMacro’s generous donation that provides crucial financial assistance in our fight to end hunger.”
