New School Pantries in Imperial Beach and Rolando Village

This autumn, Feeding San Diego will be adding two new School Pantries: Rolando Park Elementary School & Bayside Elementary School.  With the addition of these pantries, Feeding San Diego is hoping to feed more families in South County as well as by Rolando Village.

The School Pantry program is an important part of our fight against hunger in San Diego.  Through this program, Feeding San Diego provides nutritious and healthy food to low income students and their families who struggle to put food on the table.

These distributions are set up farmers market style and are consistent in their schedule each month, as well as with the location. Each family will usually receive about 22 pounds of non-perishable grocery items and produce for their household.

Having these programs set up at schools helps families make the most out of their time since many of them are already going to be at the school picking up their child. This saves time and money that would otherwise be spent on transportation.

The official launch date of the Rolando Park Elementary School Pantry is Friday October 13 from 8:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m.  After the launch, the distribution will take place every 2nd and 4th Friday of each month. In November, the Bayside STEAM program will go into effect as well.
