Mayor Todd Gloria to Proclaim May 22 ‘Feeding San Diego Day’ at Presentation on Friday, May 20

Proclamation to be presented to the hunger-relief and food rescue non-profit at its distribution center in Sorrento Valley  

Tomorrow (Friday, May 20), Mayor Todd Gloria will be at Feeding San Diego to proclaim Sunday, May 22 as ‘Feeding San Diego Day.’ This honor commemorates 15 years of the non-profit providing food assistance throughout San Diego County. Feeding San Diego was founded on May 22, 2007 and has since distributed over 300 million meals to people facing hunger throughout San Diego County.  

Media is invited to attend the proclamation presentation on Friday, May 20 at 11 AM with Mayor Gloria, Feeding San Diego Founder and Board Chair Gwendolyn Sontheim, members of the organization’s staff and board of directors, and a special guest, Lisa, who will speak to how Feeding San Diego’s services have helped her family.  

WHO: Feeding San Diego, the county’s leading hunger-relief and food rescue organization and only Feeding America affiliate in the region.  

WHAT: Outdoor presentation to proclaim May 22 ‘Feeding San Diego Day.’ There will be remarks from Mayor Gloria, Feeding San Diego Founder and Board Chair Gwendolyn Sontheim, and a recipient of Feeding San Diego’s food distributions named Lisa. 

WHEN: Friday, May 20 at 11 AM. Presentation will start promptly at 11:05 AM.  

WHERE: Feeding San Diego headquarters in Sorrento Valley (9477 Waples St. Ste. 100 San Diego, CA 92121). The presentation will be held outside in the parking lot, directly in front of the building.
