Feeding San Diego Together Tour free food distribution in Carlsbad. December 22, 2021."My name is Sydney and my daughter's name is Simone. I have six in my household and then I pick up for my cousin as well who has four in her household. I live up in Vista and this is the closest Feeding San Diego for us. This helps us, especially during the holiday. It's amazing the stuff that comes in the boxes. My mom signed us up and we've been doing it ever since. It's like tremendous, it has helped tremendously. Last time we were here, we got little turkeys and turkey grounds and that was awesome because meat is so expensive. My mom saw it and we looked it up and have been coming ever since. I think it's been about a year now. It's been awesome. I adopted my sister's three kids, so Simone is my niece, but now they're mine, all three of them. Plus the pandemic, a lot of people lost their jobs, but I work at the grocery store and just working at the grocery store, I have completely seen the drastic change in prices on things and so after COVID hit it just everything skyrocketed and it's just hard. It gets hard. Then gas on top of that, it just gets harder and harder. Plus, we live in California so that's hard as well.I would just love to say thank you and I know that within the pandemic, it's been hard for everybody, not just some, but everybody in this whole situation and I just want to say thank you for everything, because if it wasn't for them, it gets tough. So without them helping, a lot of families wouldn't have what they have during the holidays and during the whole pandemic."

Tips for Fundraising Emails

Your closest contacts are the most likely to donate! Studies show people are more likely to give the closer you are to your goal. When your outer circles see progress toward your goal, they will be more likely to give!

We recommend doing the following:

  1. Email closest contacts (family members and close friends). Wait a day or two.
  2. Email close contacts (your entire friend circle). Wait another day or two.
  3. Send to as many contacts as you feel comfortable with (co-workers, friends of friends, your entire address book, etc.)

Email Templates

Email is one of the easiest and most effective ways to fundraise. You can use the template provided on your fundraising page or one of the examples below or write your own!

Subject – Help me combat hunger in San Diego County!

Hi [Name],

I’m fundraising for Feeding San Diego, an organization that provides healthy, nutritious food to people facing hunger throughout San Diego County. Did you know about 100,000 children are food insecure in San Diego? To address this issue, Feeding San Diego operates over 60 school pantries—ensuring children and their families have access to produce and other essentials!

That’s why I’m participating in the Food from the Bar campaign, to help support the school pantries that provide nutritious, fresh food to kids and their families in San Diego.

I’m trying to raise [$ Fundraising Goal] by June 30, 2025. If I can inspire just five people to contribute [$ Fundraising Goal/5] or more, I’ll reach my goal!

Join me in supporting Feeding San Diego by making a gift to my fundraising page: [Add Your Fundraising Page].

Thanks so much for your support!

Dear [Name],

I’m participating in Feeding San Diego’s Food from the Bar campaign, and it would mean so much if you could help me reach my goal by June 30, 2025!

Food from the Bar supports Feeding San Diego’s School Pantry Program. Did you know that an estimated 100,000 children in San Diego County are food insecure?

That’s where Feeding San Diego’s School Pantry program steps in. These pantries help provide fresh, nutritious food to children and their families, at a location they trust—their local schools. All children deserve to have the nutrition they need to grow and thrive, but we need your help.
