Food from the Bar

San Diego’s legal community raises the bar on hunger relief

Congratulations to Last Year’s Champions

Last year’s Food from the Bar teams came together to provide over 300,000 meals to San Diegans facing hunger.

A special congratulations to Singleton Schreiber, our 2025 Top Overall Team. Their fundraising helped support Feeding San Diego’s School Pantry Program and raised enough to help open a new pantry at Morse High School, giving students and their families ongoing access to fresh produce and staple grocery items.

This year, we’re aiming even higher: $200,000 to provide 400,000 meals.

It All Starts at the Kickoff

Join us for the kickoff of the Food from the Bar fundraising challenge. Get your team signed up, launch your fundraising page, and learn more about the impact behind the cause.

Connect with fellow firms over dinner and drinks, and hear a short program highlighting the School Pantry Program and why last year’s leading firms are passionate about supporting this work.

Already know you’re in? Sign up your team today and get a head start.

What is Food from the Bar?

A friendly fundraising competition among San Diego’s legal professionals. Each team competes to raise the most funds, recruit the most volunteers, and rally their colleagues throughout June.

A team can be a law firm, an insurance company, a staffing agency, a bar association, or an individual legal professional.

Where Your Fundraising Goes

Funds raised directly support the expansion of Feeding San Diego’s School Pantry. There are more than 25 schools on our waitlist. Your participation in Food from the Bar will help increase the number of local kids and families who have access to staple pantry items and fresh produce.

Food insecurity is particularly damaging for children, affecting physical and mental health and academic achievement. Each School Pantry distribution makes a measurable difference for students and families.

Compete for Recognition

All teams will receive logo recognition on Feeding San Diego’s Food from the Bar web page and a window cling to display at their office. Teams donating $5,000 or more will be featured on the Corporate Partnerships page. Teams raising $2,500+ will be listed as a named School Pantry Sponsor in a Feeding San Diego blog post. But wait, there’s more!
