At its Sorrento Valley headquarters, Feeding San Diego will distribute plant-based patties donated by Otay Mesa-based Jensen Meat Company tomorrow. The distribution is part of the non-profit’s Together Tour series of drive-through food distributions open to anyone in need of food assistance. With rising costs of nearly everything, Feeding San Diego continues to see increased need for food assistance.

In late December, Jensen Meat Company donated 500,000 pounds of its new plant-based patties to the hunger relief organization to help aid in its efforts to get food out into the community to those in need of food assistance. This is the single largest donation in the non-profit’s history and will make a huge impact on its ability to distribute more food to San Diegans in need.

“This donation from Jensen Meat Company is not only incredibly generous, it’s monumental,” said Dan Shea, Chief Executive Officer of Feeding San Diego. “Feeding San Diego relies on food donors to keep costs down, and this donation enables us to allocate funds we might spend on protein towards other products for those we serve.”
