Local hunger relief organization making stops around the county to ensure San Diegans have the food assistance they need

Leading into the holidays next week, Feeding San Diego is hosting food distributions across the county to ensure San Diegans have food assistance if needed. These free food distributions ensure that neighbors can access healthy and nutritious food amidst record-high gas prices, soaring food costs, and the continued public health threat of COVID-19. The organization continues to see an increase in need and is currently moving about two million pounds of food through its Sorrento Valley distribution center every month.

The local hunger relief organization is hosting its own drive-through food distributions at sites across the county this week and next, in addition to food distributions with its community partners. Anyone in need of food assistance can drive through to receive a pantry staples box that includes holiday food items like stuffing mix, mashed potato mix, and pie crust mix, as well as fresh produce and a frozen meat protein totaling over 50 pounds of food to ensure they have enough during this difficult time.
