Every winter, the Programs team distributes surveys to families participating in the School Pantry and BackPack programs to help measure satisfaction with our Feeding Kids programs. From our last round, we received more than 575 responses from 18 different schools.

Results stated that 97 percent of the families surveyed eat more fruits and vegetables as a result of the program and 97 percent of the families prepare more meals at home as a result of the program. 71 percent of the families surveys said they ate less unhealthy food (fast food, junk food, etc.) after participating in the Feeding Kids programs.

One parent shared, “I have better habits in my diet since I received the food, we eat healthier.”

These results help us measure our impact in the community and inspire us to continue our work ending hunger in San Diego County.
