New Partner Hosts Successful First Distribution

One of our newest partners, Educational Enrichment Systems Inc. kicked off their very first distribution in September and it was a huge success.

EES is a non-profit child development agency that has provided superior early education programs to families throughout San Diego County since 1979. They decided to start a distribution to meet a need witnessed in their students and families. They are piloting an innovative approach to addressing food insecurity by stepping outside their normal services to provide fresh produce to their community.

On their first day, over 85% of their families participated,  distributing a total of 143 bags of food. EES parents exchanged yam recipes as they picked up their produce, and our contact there mentioned that this was “a unique opportunity for our school to engage families in a way that addresses a need, but in a very dignified and universal way”. Congrats on a great first day, EES, with many more to come!
