For the month of March, Feeding San Diego’s partnership team is spotlighting East County Transitional Living Center. They were recently honored as 2022 California Nonprofit of the Year in San Diego County for District 71! Congratulations to them!

Giving Hope to the Unhoused

East County Transitional Living Center feeds the more than 300 residents of their five programs. They provide breakfast, lunch, and dinner to all residents. To do so, their team picks up from a total of eight donor stores. In February 2023, they rescued a total of 39,270 pounds of food! This is the highest number from our east region agencies.

Bobby, the director of food services, makes sure that pick-ups and reporting are all done in an efficient manner. He has great support from the residents that volunteer to work in the kitchen by preparing meals or driving to pick up donations.

Bobby has always expressed his gratitude for our partnership. Feeding San Diego acknowledges that without partnerships like this one, rescuing food and working toward ending hunger would not be possible. We are grateful for our partnership, and we are grateful to work with Bobby and all his staff.

The Living Center has been partnering with Feeding San Diego since 2010.
