San Diego, CA — April 17, 2019 — Metallica has announced that Wednesday May 22, 2019 will mark their second annual Day of Service through their foundation All Within My Hands. Feeding San Diego is honored to be one of more than 50 hunger-relief organizations across the country benefiting from the initiative.

Last year’s first-ever All Within My Hands Day of Service enlisted more than 1,000 volunteers to spend a day working at local hunger-relief organizations across the United States. Feeding   San Diego had 42 volunteers participate in one shift.

More than 50 hunger-relief organizations will be participating in this year’s activities – over twice as many as last year – and each registered volunteer will receive a special All Within My Hands t-shirt commemorating this united Day of Service.

“We are excited to be a beneficiary of Metallica’s All Within My Hands Foundation’s Second Annual Day of Service. Feeding San Diego is on a mission to solve hunger and end food waste in San Diego. Until that day comes, partnerships like the one with Metallica and their All Within My Hands Foundation are critical. Metallica is lending their voice and influence to help drive awareness and inspire action — and for that we are very grateful,” said Vince Hall, CEO, Feeding San Diego.

This day of service is open to anyone in the community, however, space is limited and therefore registering in advance is required. Participants can sign up for the volunteer shifts online on the Feeding San Diego website. The shifts will take place from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm.
