Feeding San Diego increasing food distributions across San Diego County as unemployment continues to rise

Feeding San Diego and San Diego & Imperial Counties Labor Council are joining forces again this Saturday, April 25, to distribute food to families, seniors and children impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Feeding San Diego will serve 1,100 households at the stadium, including many people accessing food assistance for the first time, due to the crisis. The stadium distribution is one of many drive-through distributions being provided by Feeding San Diego across the county during the COVID-19 crisis.

“Feeding San Diego is focused on providing consistent, reliable food distributions throughout the county to ensure San Diegans can access food at convenient locations in their own neighborhoods. We want people impacted by COVID-19 to know that we are here for them and that they can count on us during this difficult time,” said Vince Hall, CEO Feeding San Diego.

Feeding San Diego, in partnership with the San Diego & Imperial Counties Labor Council, will host a drive-through food distribution for families, seniors, and children in need at SDCCU Stadium on Saturday, April 25, beginning at 9:00 AM until the food is gone. A pre-packed box of canned and boxed foods, a frozen chicken or pork item, and a bag of fresh fruits and vegetables will be placed directly in each trunk, while volunteers and participants maintain a safe six-foot separation.
