Wheelz and the NUcrew On the Go

Hello Friends,

We are on the road again, this time visiting the San Marcos Mobile Pantry where over 350 people receive food every first and third Wednesday of the month. At each distribution, FSD provides over 8,500 pounds of food! The distribution takes place on land owned by the father of site coordinator Luzmam Vigil. The land, located near several groves and orchards is ideal for the many migrant workers who struggle with hunger. Nutrition Advocate Intern Nilo Hamed, volunteers from North County Health Services, and several community members help by signing people in, distributing food and providing nutrition and health information. During our visit, they even demonstrated a healthy recipe for fruit oatmeal with apples. Until next time, Wheelz and the NUcrew
