Advocate for Change. Champion Hunger-Relief.
In California, more than 5 million people face hunger. Hunger affects the well-being of everyone in our communities. We need you to tell your story about how hunger affects your life and our communities.
Hunger Action Day 2017: Wednesday, May 24
Join Feeding San Diego, the California Hunger Action Coalition and Californians from all over the state as we gather to speak to state representatives about important legislation affecting hunger in our communities. Visit legislators, meet advocates and speak on behalf of San Diegans struggling with hunger. We will be departing from Feeding San Diego at 8:00AM on Tuesday, May 23 and returning around midnight on May 24.
- Training on legislation and speaking with legislators will be provided.
- Transportation, lodging and three meals will be provided.
- Transportation will be via a charter bus and we plan to fill all seats. Please prepare accordingly.
- Long periods of time will be spent sitting on a bus and we will be walking and waiting a substantial amount once in Sacramento. Please keep this in mind when committing to this event and if you feel this will be limiting to your experience, consider allowing someone else to attend in your place as spaces are limited.
Each participant is asked to pay $20 beforehand to help off-set the costs of the trip. Transportation, three meals, lodging, meeting(s) with state legislators, training materials and the chance to influence important laws are all included. Payment will be confirmation of participation.
If you are unable to pay $20, please contact Kelcey Ellis for options.
