“I’m a stay-at-home mom and unfortunately, I fall in a really weird zone. I’m back on WIC, but I wasn’t able to get on WIC for a long while. So I was coming here to try to get some help with getting food and stuff. I’m living with my mom right now. It’s me, my mom, my daughter, and my sister. I don’t have any source of income. So this is a good help for the household. Thank you so much for all the donations. We were struggling for a little while when I wasn’t able to get help in other ways, and so this was super helpful. I stumbled upon it when I came to the park to take [my daughter] to play, and it’s been a game changer.”

“I’ve lived here for four years, but I’ve lived in San Diego County all my life. I’m 63 years old. I work a little. I’ve definitely been impacted by inflation. Rent keeps going up. It’s hard to put gas in the tank. I have chronic kidney disease, and I had a stroke. Thankfully, my wife has helped me tremendously. It’s challenging. Getting food here is a huge help. It’s maybe the equivalent of $70. I like the Sprouts sandwiches. To everyone who donates, I say thank you.”

“Even receiving Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) and everything like that, the cost out here, in my eyes, is really expensive. A gallon of milk is way more than I’ve seen anywhere else. To come here helps a lot. It shows that people care and that there are people that understand that it’s not always so easy for active-duty military. When you calculate it all, and you see how much you’re actually getting paid, it’s not that much. What I got today helps out tremendously. Thank you, it’s great that there are people out there that donate.”
